iMac 27" 2011 SSD upgrade.

Today we had another iMac in for an SSD upgrade. Adding an SSD gives a great performance boost to your computer. This time we fitted a Crucial M500, 960GB SSD for our customer, which you can see on the left in the photo above.

As soon as we put the computer on the bench we take great care with the upgrade. We use anti-static/ESD precautions throughout. All our benches have high quality ESD mats and we always wear ESD wrist straps. Our equipment is tested weekly to make sure it is doing its job at protecting your valuable equipment.

Above you can see the SSD fitted beneath the optical drive. The 2011 iMac has enough SATA ports to allow the SSD, internal hard drive and optical drive to all be connected and operate.

Above we have fitted the optical drive back in place. You can see the SATA and power cables for the SSD drive.

And finally everything is ready for us to re-fit the LCD screen to this 27" iMac. We make sure that all the internals are cleaned and vacuumed, the iMac contains 3 fans. All connectors are double checked as is the fitting of the external USB/Thunderbolt ports on the rear of the logic board.
