Meraki Wireless for Campsites.
Meraki wireless mesh networking provides an excellent basis for campsite or caravan park Wi-Fi. The mesh technology behind Meraki WiFi makes covering an otherwise difficult or expensive area like a camp ground or caravan park a breeze.
Meraki access points are able to act as wireless repeaters and will take their signal from the best quality adjacent Meraki repeater. Unlike traditional wireless access points this means that all the Meraki units do not need an ethernet connection back to the LAN. This makes deployment of a wireless network much easier as only a power connection is required. Meraki even produce a solar powered unit so that no connection is needed at all.
The Meraki network can be configured in several different ways, it can handle all the billing if you wish so that the camp site owner need not get involved with taking payments from the campers. Or it can be configured so that free access is given to the campers. Additionally a separate secure network can be running on the same Meraki equipment for the camp site staff. All this is configured using the Meraki ‘cloud’ controller.
All that is required by the camp site or caravan park owner is a reliable internet connection.
